Murray Hunt spoke on February 17 at a seminar sponsored by the Australian Human Rights Commission. He is currently Legal Advisor to the UK Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights and was a key founding member of Matrix Chambers, London and has specialised in human rights law and public law.
This seminar covered:
- the operation of the UK Human Rights Act 10 years after its enactment; and
- the impact of the UK Human Rights Act on the UK Parliament.
His presentation provides a timely reality check the actual impact of human rights legilsation and puts into perspective often misleading claims being made by Australian opponents of human rights legislation.
