The UK Human Rights Act as a ‘parliamentary model’ of rights protection: lessons for Australia.
PRESENTER: Murray Hunt, Legal Advisor to the UK Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights
CHAIR: The Hon Catherine Branson QC, President, Australian Human Rights Commission.
This seminar will cover:

  • the operation of the UK Human Rights Act 10 years after its enactment;
  • and the impact of the UK Human Rights Act on the UK Parliament.

Murray Hunt is currently Legal Advisor to the UK Parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights. He was a key founding member of Matrix Chambers, London and has specialised in human rights law and public law.
