All interested are welcome to a round table discussion on the UNAA’s (United Nations Association of Australia-NSW) input to the Government’s Human Rights Consultative process.

TIME: 5:30 for 6:00 pm Thursday 21st May 2009 (finish 7:30pm latest)

PLACE: UNAA(NSW) Office, Humanist House, 10 Shepherd St, Chippendale NSW 2008

This is a free event; light refreshments will be provided

The purpose of the meeting is to assemble ideas and comments which can be used to strengthen the UNAA submission. After the Meeting date, the deadlines will be very tight, and so it is important to do as much preparative work as possible. There are three ways in which your voice can be heard:1) attend the meeting;

2) if you cannot attend, and would like to make a statement by phone to the meeting, please send us your telephone number. We will inform you in advance approximately when you can expect a call from us on the evening;

3) email any comments to us.

If you are able to share any stories on the experiences of people whose human rights have been violated, this would be particularly appreciated by the consultative panel. We would need to obtain the appropriate permissions topresent these stories to the Panel.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Please email acceptance to office@unaansw.org.au copied to pairey@optusnet.com.au or leave a phone message at the office Tel: 9212 0998

Hope you are able to make it

Yours sincerely

Peter Airey
